If you are a person who enjoys new discoveries (me too), then I’m happy to share the scoop about the newest of the East Bay bridal shops: Lili Safarini Berkeley bridal salon. This stylish bridal boutique, located in the heart of the Berkeley arts district, offers both custom wedding dresses and ready made wedding dresses. You’ll find gowns from international designers such as Eastern Europe’s Oksana Mukha If you’re looking for a unique wedding dress and a personalized experience, this is your kind of place.
Located on a lovely side street in downtown Berkeley, Lili Safarini is easily accessible. I loved the intimate elegance of the boutique, and immediately fell in love with the Capitola collection The jewel-encrusted bodice reminded me of tutus I wore as a professional ballet dancer. When you visit the boutique you can meet one-on-one with the designer to discuss fabrics, fits, and details about your dream wedding attire…or view finished gowns, which are available up to size 24. The boutique also offers alterations, pressing, and personal styling.
During my visit I met with co-owner Lilit Safaryan (she’s pictured here, dressing a mannequin with one of her original designs). As we chatted over sparkling water and delicious shortbread, I learned more about how she became a bridal designer. Originally from Armenia, Lilit studied fashion design at Moscow state. She later continued her studies abroad, earning a Masters degree in Italy. Shortly after, a friend invited her to collaborate on bridal designs, and a career was born.
If you are scouring East Bay bridal shops for unique wedding dresses, I highly recommend a visit to Lili Safarini. A heads up: the boutique is open Tuesday-Saturday. Because they like to dedicate their undivided attention to every bride, you’ll need make an appointment ahead of time. Whether you collaborate with them to create your dream wedding dress from scratch, or choose from one of their existing collections, you’ll be well taken care of at Lili Safarini Berkeley bridal salon!
